One of the biggest benefits of using Freelancer.com is getting the work done fast and efficiently!

Bruce Shields from Michigan, USA talks about his experience on Freelancer.com and how he found a professional book editing freelancer to copy edit his entire book in just 5 days and for a fraction of quotes he had received.

“Within an hour I had 45 bids to choose from”

First let me say that I was very skeptical that I would be able to find anyone who could aptly accomplish what I needed, let alone do it within the time frame I needed it for as little as I could afford.

I could not have been more wrong!

My published novel, Pandemic Dawn, was just about to go into its second print, and my first print editing was a disaster. I had 2 weeks to find another editor, and have my complete novel re-edited and submitted for the second edition publishing.

Out of desperation, and exhaustion from searching online for literally hours to find an affordable editor who was capable to finish this project in the time frame I needed, I signed up for Freelancer.com and posted my job.

Within an hour I had 45 bids to choose from, and the greatest part of this was, they were coming to me!

The added bonus was the fact that they were bidding against each other, which really helped me out in a pinch.

This job would have cost me nearly two grand, and at least a 4 to 6 week wait…but instead, $250 & 3 days later, my edited manuscript was in the mail and on its way!

I could not be more pleased!

I look forward to posting my next job on Freelancer.com this fall when I complete my next novel!

Thank You!

Editing and proofreading Bruce’s novel was my first freelance job so I was very excited to get started. It was enjoyable and I am thrilled to have discovered the opportunity. I found this job after just a few days of bidding and had a great experience working with Bruce. This kind of work – at my own schedule, from any location, on creative topics that interest me, is a dream come true. I look forward to working with this author again and meeting many other employers. Freelancer.com and freelancing online is a great adventure!

TRANSCRIPT

Greetings, my name is Bruce Shields. I am the author of the Pandemic Dawn novel series. I’d like to share with you my personal experience on Freelancer.com.
My published novel Pandemic Dawn was just about to go into its second print. My first copy editing was a disaster, and I had approximately two weeks to find another editer, and have my complete novel re-edited and submitted for the second edition publishing. Out of desperation and exhaustion from searching online for literally hours trying to find an affordable editor who could complete this task in the time frame that I needed, I came across Freelancer.com on a search engine. I decided to sign up and give it a shot. It was easy to sign up and it only took me a couple of minutes to have my project posted.
Within, I would say, an hour, I had 45 offers to choose from, which was great. The greatest part was that they were coming to me – I wasn’t having to go search them, seek them out. The added bonus was of course the fact that they were competing against each other, which really helped me out in a pinch because of my financial situation at the time. This job was going to cost me approximately $2,000 and I had a 4-6 week wait at most of the editors I had contacted. But instead, because I signed up on Freelancer.com, the job ended up only costing me about $250, and I had my manuscript in my hand within 5 days. I could not be more pleased. I am extremely happy with Freelancer.com, as well as the Freelancer that I hired, William Matt Carlos – he’s a great copy editor, contact him if you need him. I could not be more pleased. I really look forward to posting my next job on Freelancer.com, and this fall, when I complete the second novel in the Pandemic Dawn series, I will be contacting Freelancer.com for my copy editing needs. Thank you.

Very inspiring testimony! I’m an experienced proofreader/editor too and nothing can be more thrilling than seeing how my fellow freelancers prove their qualities and skills and not just bid to talk highly about their experience in the field as a pure way to advertise themselves in order to be awarded a certain project.
Congratulations, Mr. Shield, for your perseverance in finding the suitable freelancer to work on your project.
Congratulations, Mr Don Carlos, that you were able to meet Mr. Shield’s expectations. I admire your passion for this type of project. Keep bidding!

  • nice :) I love this article. I hope that you write more about it on next…(job) have a nice day

  • I must begin by confessing that I never thought of an arrangement like this. I’m even doubly amazed how it easily satisfies both the author and proofreader. It’s a great idea indeed!
