Hire Freelancers directly from their Profile page! No more “Private project for…” posts!

Benefits for Employers

Employers, we know you’ve worked with Freelancers who are so good that you’ve wanted to hire them again. Well, today we’re launching an exciting new feature that lets you do just that! It’s called the “Hire Me” button and appears on every Freelancer’s Profile page. Plus, we’ve also added a “Contact list” from which you can easily rehire Freelancers whom you’ve previously awarded projects to.

Here’s how it works:

  • Click Hire Me, on any Freelancer’s Profile, to make them an offer.
  • Create your project using the form, specifying the amount you’ll pay.
  • The Freelancer receives your offer and must accept or decline it.
  • By accepting your offer, that Freelancer is automatically added to your Contact List, making it easy to rehire them for upcoming projects.
  • When your project is complete its details are displayed in an easy-to-read table, giving you a record of who did what.

 

Your Contact List will launch pre-filled with the names of every Freelancer you’ve ever hired, not just Hire Me projects. Together with Hire Me, this will make it easier to employ reliable Freelancers and determine how much you want to pay them.

As always, for your safety, make sure you use our Milestone Payment system, particularly if you are employing a Freelancer for the first time. In addition to being protected against unexpected issues, you only release payment when you’re 100% satisfied with the work you receive. Hire Me can be a consistent and significant source of income for you now that Employers can approach you directly! Here’s what you can do, right now, to create opportunities for yourself through Hire Me:

  • Complete your Profile – Employers will hire Freelancers on the strength of their Profile. If your Profile is incomplete, take steps to complete it now. Include essential information that demonstrates your skills and strengths so you don’t miss more earning opportunities
  • Promote your Profile  – Tell everyone you know that they can hire you through Facebook, Twitter, your website, blog, email and any other site or method you use to communicate with friends, family and most importantly, previous Employers! One of the easiest ways is simply by pasting a link to your Freelancer.com Profile in your email signature.
  • Certify your skills with Freelancer exams - Complete one or more Freelancer.com proficiency exams and be recognized as an expert in a specific skill (e.g. PHP, Android or SEO). With an incredible selection of exams covering Technology, Design, Engineering, Marketing and more, it’s the best way to promote your expertise to potential Employers.

    This is great! Much better than seeing all the private projects that get posted all the time.

    Would also love to be able to “offer” services as a freelancer as well and have people bid for the service that you provide. :)

    Wow, this is truly the option of the year. It will definitely save time for employers and will be beneficial for the freelancers at the same time as they will be awarded comparatively more projects from the employers who have worked with them and are satisfied with their efforts.

    Now, how about a similar service to enable project providers to contact buyers they have a good working relation with an offer for fresh work? Let buyers outline a Hotlist of 4-5 departments they require regular services for and allow service providers to contact a fixed number of buyers per month, (just like the no. of bids permissible per month) with their best offers.

    Considering that the fee attached to “hire me” is $100(lots of money) how can a contractor seek redress in case the employer happens to be a corn artist? He/she may choose to keep silent after a contractor’s acceptance of the project
    Secondly, can a contractor retract his/her decision after accepting a job ? Ca freelancer withdraw charges/fees? Please Freelancer support-help!

    This feature was much-needed and desired. Why didn’t we think of this earlier? “Hire Me” will make life much easier for employers wanting to hire a particular worker again and again!

    A nice feature, but frustrating too. I’ve received two offers, both offering far below my regular rate and both while I was unavailable to work. I would have liked the option to be able to mark myself unavailable for direct hire, either as a flag or as a set of dates for which I’m unavailable.
